It’s officially the last day of the summer holidays here in Bavaria (at least for the teachers), so I thought I’d share one of my favorite photos from my vacation in the Allgäu region, which I took of the Großer Alpsee lake on our last vacation day.

Having just finished three days of a really fantastic training course for the new syllabus starting this school year, I am much less worried about school starting on Monday than I was before.

In fact, I feel as relaxed as I did when I took that photo, and I hope that feeling will stay with me a little while longer, especially through the usually quite tumultuous first days and weeks of school.

I wish all my fellow teachers, trainers and lecturers a great new year with lots of exciting and fun experiences and no unexpected snags!
